Fast & Slow: The Holm Neighborhood

Holm is built to offer a beautiful and healthy environment halfway between the city centre and Václav Havel Airport.

Holm is a place to slow down. Residents can get all they need in one place and the immediate surroundings: parks with great jogging, biking and hiking trails; outdoor swimming spots; and the nearby sports facilities of Charles University. Holm is situated in Prague’s sixth district with a wide variety of local shops, bars, theatres and galleries.


Holm is a place to accelerate. It will allow our residents to focus on their priorities, join workshops and courses, or attend talks. They can get work done in their rooms or in the shared co-working café, and connect with our international student community, all in one place. Moreover, Holm is conveniently located, with a fast connection to the city and the airport.

Nature Reserve Šárka

This is a vast park that combines natural as well as historical heritage. You can stroll on signed paths or roads and stop at any of the cafés scattered around the park or wander on your own through steep hills and enjoy the views from the wild Šárka rocks. This place is great for biking, hiking, jogging or roller blading and only a few minutes walk from Holm.

Outdoor Swimming

Summers in Prague can get hot! Luckily, you can enjoy outdoor swimming either in the reservoir Džbán (The Pitcher) or in the public swimming pool located in the middle of the Šárka reserve. Both are located walking distance from our campus and both are supplied by clean and fresh water from the local springs, that stay cold and clean no matter how hot it gets.

Hvčzda (Star) Reserve

This 210 acres large park used to be a royal game reserve and today it is a public park, still protected by its old walls. Its name derives from the Star Summer Palace from the 16th century located in the middle of the park. You will find plenty of main and side paths where you can enjoy jogging or walking. One of the clearings is also a very popular place for flying kites!

Sport Grounds

Literally across the street from Holm, you can find the extensive premises of the Faculty of Sports of Charles University. Our residents can use the outdoor sports grounds and playing fields as well as the indoor gyms upon previous booking. This gives you unlimited sport oportunities, all just round the corner.

Metro & Airport

Good connections to Holm’s location has always been our focal point. From the nearby tram/metro stations you can get to the city centre or you can hop on the airport shuttle that passes by our halls and get to the Prague International Airport within 20 minutes. For regular travellers this saves a lot of time and taxi budget.

University Campuses

Apart from the nearby Faculty of Sports, there are other universities within short distance from Holm. The campus of the Czech Technical University is only a 10 minute tram ride away and most of the Charles University buildings as well as the Anglo-American University or UNYP, that can be reached by tram or metro.

National Library of Technology (NTK)

NTK, the largest and the oldest library of science and technology in the Czech Republic, is located in the center of the Dejvice engineering and technology campus. The award-winning building & interior offer over 1 300 study spots (including after hours study rooms) and great many places to relax. Auditoriums and seminar rooms are also available. Check it out!

Vítězné náměstí Square

Trams and buses from Vozovna Vokovice station will take you within 10 minutes to the main square of the Dejvice neighborhood, where you can enjoy ample opportunities for eating out or having drinks at literally any day/night hour. Dejvice are also known for Prague’s most famous farmer market and are currently among the coolest Prague neighborhoods.

Shopping Malls & Shops

Only 15 minutes away, you can find a laid-back mall OC Šestka with all the popular brands. Other options are the Stomovka Shopping mall in the cool neighborhood of Letná (20 minutes tram ride) or even one of the biggest Czech malls - Palladium in the Old Town (25 mins). You can do your basic shopping in the neighborhood around Holm or at our grocery station.
